Geogrids

These products are distributed only in the province of Quebec.

Geogrids are flexible structures presenting openings of various shapes and sizes used to reinforce the upper foundation layer or even the paving by strengthening them thus extending the lifespan of the works. These grids are made of materials resistant to physical degradation and loss of rigidity caused by chemically aggressive environments. Geogrids resist elongation due to creeping and bear large traction loads.

Main geogrid product lines

Uniaxial

UX SERIES

Uniaxial geogrids of the UX series are high-density polyethylene structures with long longitudinal openings. The transfer mechanism of soil constraints to the geogrid comes from the interaction between its open geometry and the granular particles of the fill soil through a locking mechanism following its compaction into the openings of the grid. Thanks to its unidirectional geometry, this grid has high traction resistance in the longitudinal direction and allows load transfers along its length. This type of grid is generally used for the reinforcement of the soil in a single direction such as in the case of berms or as a component in supporting walls to transfer the facade's strains to the soil mass.

Biaxial

BX SERIES

Biaxial geogrids of the BX series are high-density polyethylene structures with square openings. The transfer mechanism of soil constraints to the geogrid comes from the interaction between its open geometry and the granular particles of the fill soil through a locking mechanism following its compaction into the openings of the grid. Thanks to its bidirectional geometry, this grid has high traction resistance along both axes and allows load transfers in both directions. This type of grid is generally used for the reinforcement of road foundations or decks.

Triaxial

TX SERIES

Triaxial geogrids of the TX series are high-density polyethylene structures with triangular openings. The transfer mechanism of soil constraints to the geogrid comes from the interaction between its open geometry and the granular particles of the fill soil through a locking mechanism following its compaction into the openings of the grid. Thanks to its isotropic geometry, this grid has high traction resistance along multiple axes and allows load transfers in all directions. This type of grid is generally used for the reinforcement of road foundations or decks.

HX

HX SERIES

HX geogrids are a new generation of reinforcement geogrids. Compared to traditional geogrids (biaxial and triaxial), these geogrids provide superior reinforcement. The structure of NX geogrids consists of continuous and non-continuous ribs forming three opening geometries (hexagon, trapezoid and triangle) and a suspended hexagon.

NX

NX SERIES

NX geogrids are a new generation of reinforcement geogrids. Compared to traditional geogrids (biaxial and triaxial), these geogrids provide superior reinforcement. The geogrid is manufactured from a coextruded, composite polymer sheet, which is then punched and oriented. The resulting structure consists of continuous and non-continuous ribs forming three aperture geometries (hexagon, trapezoid, and triangle) and an unimpeded suspended hexagon.

POROUS SURFACE REINFORCEMENT

Texel offers a range of porous surface reinforcement products. These products are installed on the ground surface to keep a high pressure resistance while allowing rain water to percolate into the soil. Offered products are Texgrass, Texgravel and Terratame.

GEOCELL

Aleveolar geosynthetics are structures in the form of beehives deployed on the soil's surface to confine the fill material in the alveoli. This product, by virtue of its geometry, combines flexibility and strength to model the terrain to be covered and retain the fill material while allowing the passage of water thus preventing soil washout and erosion of berms. This geosynthetic is generally used to stabilize berms and stream banks and can even be placed in the foundation of access roads to increase the load-bearing capacity of the soil.
